New Look!

Greetings! Please pardon our dust while we are in the process of updating our website to be more user-friendly. Thanks.

Parkway Academy Charter High School @ BC opened its doors in August of 2001. Partnered with our Board of Directors (South Florida Automotive and Truck Dealer’s Association) and Broward College, a bold new departure from the traditional American high school was created.. It offers students an innovative curriculum that combines state-of-the-art automotive vocational training with a rigorous academic foundation that will open new horizons of opportunity for students. This instructional program will provide a world-class education for students who will enter a complex, rapidly changing, highly competitive, and interdependent world. Parkway Academy graduates will earn their high school diploma and obtain a certified career training simultaneously.

Completion of the automotive program offered at Parkway Academy, apprenticeships, skilled employment or even entrepreneurship and entrance into Broward College's automotive program on site --- will provide students opportunities not available through a standard four-year high school program. In addition, the academic diploma will qualify them into a two or four year college for additional education in their career choice. Parkway Academy @ BC students will have the necessary knowledge skills, and attitude to make thoughtful, realistic, and positive choices about their future.

Two focal points of the Parkway curriculum will be develop information-literacy and "lifetime" learning skills among all students. Special projects and demonstration of knowledge is expected and facilitated in all subject areas. In addition, this facility will accommodate an extensive adult automotive education program during the evening hours.

The American economy today is inextricably linked to the global economy. This relationship has profound implications for the future of the nation. One of these is the change in the nature of work itself. Another is the realization that in the global economy, high wage jobs will only come with the mastery of high skills. Thus, the automotive program will provide students opportunities to enter the world of work with the skills and confidence that will enable them to be productive citizens.

Join us as we open the world of opportunities to all our students
